Our Barcelona Highlights Half Day tour offers a comprehensive view of the city. We see many of the most iconic sights the city has to offer, as well as introducing you to some of Barcelona's best-kept secrets.

You start the day with a guided walking tour of the oldest part of Barcelona, the Barrio Gótico. At the start of your short walk through the historic streets of Barcelona, you will stop briefly at one of Barcelona's most traditional indoor food markets: Mercat de Santa Caterina. You will then continue into the gothic quarter, passing the Barcelona cathedral and into the old Jewish Quarter. From here, you will go into the famous Born area, past the Santa Maria del Mar church and make your way to our bus.    

The tour now continues with a drive to the famous hill of Montjüic, which offers excellent views over the city and was the site of the 1992 Olympic games. After a brief stop at the Catalunya National Art Museum (MNAC) you will make your way down to Plaça Espanya and on past the Modernist buildings of the Eixample area.

Your drive to the iconic Sagrada Famlia will take you up Passeig de Gracia, home to the famous designer stores, and the setting for two of Barcelona's most talked about Gaudï buildings: La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. You will arrive at Sagrada Família, stopping there for a guided visit inside the building. Our 'Skip the Line' policy means entrance tickets will have been pre-purchased and there will no NO QUEUES! For many, this is the highlight of their Barcelona experience. Please note that the entry tickets can be purchased separately in the office before the tour starts.  

After lunch (at your own expense), we will meet again for the afternoon part of your tour, a visit to the amazing Montserrat Monastery.

At Montserrat, you’ll be able to explore the monastic centre of Catalonia, home to the famous Black Madonna. You’ll also have time to explore the magnificent natural park & mountains with spectacular views over the plains of Catalonia.

Keeping to our philosophy of giving you plenty of free time to explore on your own, but guiding you in the right direction, the first thing we do on arrival is explaining the various options. A visit to the sanctuary where the ‘Moreneta’ is housed is a must. The sanctuary has been in use for almost 1000 years for those pilgrims and other visitors who have climbed this spectacular mountain. 

Besides these cultural possibilities, there are numerous walks around Montserrat, ranging from easy strolls to serious hikes. Each trail offers a different perspective on the stunning views over the surrounding landscape, many of which are peppered with small chapels and hermitages.

You'll easily find a route to suit your taste and energy levels. But whether they're fairly strenuous treks or gentle walks, they all give you fantastic views to marvel at the unspoiled beauty of this protected natural park. If you'd rather not walk at all, then another option is to take one of the two rack railways, or the cable car, offering yet more views of the area. 

No visit to Montserrat would be complete without see the world-famous Black Madonna (La Moreneta). We make pre-reservations for both of these attractions and the entry tickets can be purchases in the office before the tour begins.
